Dental Talk Thursday | Knocked-Out Tooth
Let's talk teeth!
For this week's Dental Talk Thursday we are going to be talking about what to do with knocked-out teeth!
If you were at your child's sporting event and a tooth got knocked out, would you know what to do?
Here's what to do for a Knocked-Out Tooth:
- First, find the tooth and use a clean cotton with mild pressure to stop the bleeding.
- Hold the tooth by the crown only, gently rinse the tooth with water if it’s visibly dirty.
- Do NOT scrub the tooth or remove any tissue fragments.
- Replace the tooth in its socket or hold it in your lip if you can; otherwise place it in a cup of milk.
- Visit your dentist immediately and bring the tooth with you.
The longer your tooth is out of the socket, the less of a chance there is that you can save it.
