Self-Awareness Saturday | Developing Awareness (Part 6) | Learn Your Frustrations
Last
week I went over the fifth step, learn your emotional triggers, so this week I'm
going piggy back off of last week's topic for step six: learn your frustrations.
Pay attention to your frustrations.
Life doesn’t always go as planned. We can’t predict the future and there are countless times in life where you experience frustration.
One of the best things you can do to help you develop your self-awareness is it pay attention to when this happens.
Whenever you feel yourself getting frustrated it’s probably because something isn’t going the way you want it to, right?
A lot of the times you will be in denial of this. You don’t want to admit that it bothers you.
It’s one of those things we
tend to brush off and pretend that it’s not happening.
Becoming aware of your
frustrations can be very challenging and may take time for you to start
noticing them.
The more you pay attention
to how you feel and acknowledge your emotions, the easier it will get.
Once you catch yourself
feeling this way, take note of it so that you can address it.
Ask yourself why the
situation makes you feel that way.
What is it that you want to change?
What can
you do differently?
Don’t beat yourself up, don’t
just sit there and stew about it – pay attention.
The fact that you want to
stew about it should be your first indication of developing that sense of self-awareness.
The more honest you can be
with yourself, the easier it will be.
